Join us for the Hazmat 101 - Understanding & Applying the Hazardous Materials Regulations training hosted by OTA, on Wednesday, April 23, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm at our Westerville headquarters.
Led by Tad Rumas, a Hazardous Material Specialist from the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO), this training will equip you with essential knowledge for the safe handling and transportation of hazardous materials. Our comprehensive program covers various crucial topics, including:
Attending this training costs $319 for OTA members and $419 for non-members. Your registration includes the training, a continental breakfast, and lunch. Additionally, you'll receive valuable course materials, including the current Hazmat Regulations Book (49 CFR) and the latest DOT 17 chart. To top it off, successfully completing a brief written exam will earn you a Certificate of Completion.

About the Trainer:
The instructor for the session is Tad Rumas, Hazardous Material Specialist with the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio. Mr. Rumas is a North American Certified Inspector in Level 1 Driver/Vehicle inspections, Hazardous Materials, Cargo tank and other bulk packages, Level VI radioactive inspections, and maintains his HM Technician certification. He currently supervises HM Specialists and Safety Investigators responsible for conducting investigations of motor carriers and other entities that offer and/or transport Hazardous Materials on our public highways. Prior to joining the PUCO, Mr. Rumas served as a Nuclear, Biological, Chemical warfare Instructor in the U.S. Marine Corps.
