About the Speaker:
Tom Forbes serves as Chief of Motor Carrier Enforcement at the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio, where he leads statewide efforts to ensure commercial motor carriers operate safely and in compliance with state and federal regulations. A North American Certified Inspector in multiple inspection disciplines—including Level I driver and vehicle, hazardous materials, cargo tank and bulk packaging, and Level VI radioactive inspections—Tom brings deep technical expertise shaped by prior service with the Ohio State Fire Marshal’s Hazardous Materials Bureau and 14 years in the private sector managing and shipping hazardous materials and waste. His work today focuses on inspections, compliance, and collaboration with state and federal partners to promote safety and accountability across Ohio’s roadways.
