Safety Director

Trucking Background Required! Pay commensurate with experience and qualifications. Class A CDL Required. Certified Director of Safety (CDS) certification preferred. For the right candidate willing to train for CDS. Eligible for Health insurance day 1 of employment. To direct and administer the safety efforts of the corporation by performing the following duties:

  • On-call duties required. Some travel and some weekend work may be required 
  • Ensures all federal, state & local safety regulations and rules are met. 
  • Submits any required reports to the appropriate regulatory agency in a timely basis 
  • Investigates and reports accidents and or violations 
  • Coordinates investigation activities with the legal and insurance departments 
  • Arrange periodic inspections of all safety and security equipment 
  • Provides safety training 
  • Conducts new hire road tests as needed 
  • Assists HR Department with new hire orientations relevant to safety 
  • Monitors driver logs for violations and counsels and/or provides additional training as needed 
  • Monitors CSA scores 
  • Handles all truck registrations, insurance certificates and permits 
  • Manages Driver Trainee training program in conjunction with HR and recruiting

Experience and/or certifications in the following is required: 

  • HAZMAT
  • Safety
  • Electronic logs 

Experience and/or certifications in the following helpful: 

  • Worker's compensation
  • forklift
  • safety audits
  • CSA
