Morning Session: The Hidden Realities in CSA Scores (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM)

Take a deep dive into the core drivers of CSA scores and how to effectively address them. Through real case studies, you'll learn to analyze safety data, identify root causes, and implement corrective action plans. Understand the “Hybrid” view of CSA and how to use it to target specific areas of concern. You’ll also explore how CSA scores are interpreted by insurers and enforcement agencies, how they influence public perception, and what they suggest about your company’s safety culture. The session concludes with a hands-on exercise in building a DOT audit strategy using a sample carrier profile.

Afternoon Session: Navigating Drug & Alcohol Testing Challenges (1:00 PM – 3:00 PM)

Ensure your drug and alcohol testing program meets federal regulations and supports driver safety. This session addresses the five required types of testing, common pitfalls that lead to violations, and how to avoid them. Learn best practices for managing the Return-to-Duty process, maintaining accurate records, and handling roadside positives. Whether you're new to compliance or looking to strengthen your current program, this session delivers actionable insights to help you stay audit-ready.

Key topics include:

  • Understanding and managing the Return-to-Duty process
  • Handling delinquent follow-up testing and its hiring impact
  • Responding to positive tests at roadside inspections
  • Ensuring accuracy in random testing program administration

About the Trainer:
Jeff Davis, CDS is the principal of Fleet Safety Services, LLC, a motor carrier safety management company specializing in regulation compliance, CSA management, and FMCSA safety rating negotiation. Jeff has nearly 30 years of motor carrier safety and compliance experience and is a certified director of safety. Jeff Davis is a recipient of the nationally recognized Truckload Carriers Association Safety Professional of the Year award and a past recipient of the Safety Professional of the Year Award for the State of Ohio.

  • You will receive no refund if you cancel less than 3 days before the training.
